The MAN AttentionGuard detects noticeable changes in steering behaviour as well as first signs of reduced attention and alerts the diver accordingly. Above a speed of 60 km/h (37 mph) the system continuously evaluates driving parameters such as steering behaviour or violations of lane boundaries, thus drawing conclusions regarding the level of attention of the driver. As a prerequisite, the truck must be equipped with the MAN Lane Departure Warning system (LDW) , a safety system which monitors whether the vehicle accurately keeps to the lane. If the MAN AttentionGuard detects noticeable changes in steering behaviour, a visual warning is triggered and an acoustic signal will sound. Within the system limits, we help you avoid accidents.
As with the MAN Lane Departure Warning system (LDW) , the MAN AttentionGuard is always activated when the engine is started. Even at night, the function is guaranteed at all times (within the system limits).
If the MAN AttentionGuard detects the first signs of first signs of lack of concentration or overtiredness, the driver display shows the message “Drive attentively!” for eight seconds.
This is accompanied by an acoustic signal which sounds once via the driver’s workplace speaker. The warnings then disappear automatically without requiring confirmation.
