That’s why, working closely with our premium partners ABB, Heliox and SBRS, we offer comprehensive solutions across Europe to support your transition to e-mobility. From electric commercial vehicles to charging infrastructure – everything from a single source, simple, safe and efficient. On request, we can also take care of maintaining your charging solution, so you can focus on your core business.

Megawatt Charging Systems

We offer powerful charging technology, optimally tailored to all our vehicle types – from the compact wall box for vans to fast-charging systems for trucks and buses. This turns your depot into an ideal base for electric commercial vehicles: Charged at the end of a shift, the batteries are ready to deliver their full range again the next day. Using the Combined Charging System (CCS) or the public Megawatt Charging System (MCS), you can increase the daily range and cover additional routes.

Many of the digital services offered for combustion-engine MAN commercial vehicles are also available for our electric buses and the new MAN eTGX and eTGS eTrucks. We also offer digital services specially adapted for our electric trucks, such as the MAN eManager, MAN SmartRoute and MAN Charge&Go.

Comprehensive charging management – monitor the vehicles and batteries of our new electric truck fleet with the MAN eManager digital service. The system immediately detects and reports short ranges or charging failures. It monitors battery temperatures and sends an alert if there is a problem. Let MAN eManager do the hard work, with eTruck smart charging. Vehicle pre-conditioning is integrated into the charging process via the MAN eManager. This helps to optimise the vehicle range. There are two different versions of MAN eManager available.

MAN eManager S

  • Efficient control of the charging process for a single eTruck or your entire fleet.
  • Timer feature: Set when you want your eTruck to be fully charged – MAN eManager does the rest.
  • Real-time overview of the charging process, potential range with current battery status and the predicted time when the truck will be fully charged.

MAN eManager M

  • Includes all MAN eManager S. features
  • Transmits key battery data such as temperature, voltage and charge/discharge power.
  • Shows the remaining battery capacity in kWh for all charge levels.
  • Status overview for your entire MAN eTruck fleet, including if the eTrucks are currently driving or stationary.

Smart and efficient route planning and charging strategy for electric trucks: MAN SmartRoute helps you plan the best routes for your MAN eTruck. An efficient routefinder that always schedules the right charging station in good time – for maximum range and reliability.

MAN SmartRoute is part of the digital package for MAN eTGX and eTGS and is initially available with limited functionality at the start of series production. Full availability expected in the course of 2026.

Transforming the MAN service network for e-mobility

Strong support for powerful vehicles: To maximise the availability of your MAN electric commercial vehicles, we rely on a strong service network. By continuously adapting its functions and service structure for eReadiness, MAN helps you minimise downtime. This transformation is based on ambitious plans: By the start of production of the MAN eTrucks in 2025, 70% of all MAN-owned service outlets in Europe are expected to be eReady. From 2028, we are aiming for 100% eReadiness.

Keep track of the maintenance status of your electric commercial vehicles at all times with MAN ServiceCare, our predictive digital maintenance and repair management service. To minimise workshop visits and downtime, vehicle and maintenance data from your MAN electric fleet are transferred to MAN ServiceCare. Choose from the following service packages depending on your individual requirements:

  • With the free MAN ServiceCare S, your preferred MAN service outlet proactively coordinates maintenance appointments for your MAN electric commercial vehicles and groups together the relevant maintenance requirements. In the event of a breakdown, the nearest MAN service outlet has remote access to relevant vehicle details of your MAN electric trucks and electric buses. This allows the necessary action to be identified at an early stage and helps get your vehicle back on the road more quickly.
  • With the MAN ServiceCare M package, you go a step further: In addition to the comprehensive services of MAN ServiceCare S, we offer additional features for even more personalised maintenance and repair management of your MAN electric commercial vehicles. Thanks to the extended system access and comprehensive maintenance information, you can view the status of individual components in detail. Accordingly, you can view the history of the battery system for your MAN electric trucks and electric buses, for example, and access more detailed information about the battery system. You can also manage your own components. You decide which maintenance tasks to perform yourself and which to outsource to a MAN service outlet.

eMobility: Clean mobility for the future

E-mobility as zero-emission technology: We believe battery-electric drives for commercial vehicles are a key factor on the path towards locally emission-free mobility. Electric vehicles are superior to other technologies in terms of energy efficiency and total cost of ownership. They are also significantly quieter. Our wide range of electric commercial vehicles is ideally suited to use in city centres and for bus, regional and distribution transport. From 2024, our new-generation MAN eTrucks will be on the road, offering the same versatility as today’s diesel trucks.

In addition to purely battery-electric drives, we are also focusing on research into hydrogen-based (H2) systems. Our long-established Nuremberg site is therefore being transformed into a production and development facility for alternative drive systems, with a focus on battery systems. Our strategy aims to achieve an emissions-neutral product range and play an active role in transforming the transport sector.
