Situation: When turning
When you indicate to turn, the system uses radar sensors[Van-LimitsSystem] and a multifunction camera[Van-LimitsSystem] to monitor oncoming traffic and detect an imminent collision as you cross the oncoming lane.
Situation: When oncoming traffic is turning
The function also assists when driving straight ahead with automatic braking [Van-LimitsSystem] and an acoustic signal. It detects when an oncoming vehicle turns dangerously across your lane, creating an immediate risk of collision.
System response: Automatic braking with warning
If the system detects an imminent risk of a head-on collision in one of the two situations described at speeds of up to 30 km/h, it warns the driver[Van-LimitsSystem] and initiates automatic braking. The brake intervention helps to prevent a collision or reduce its severity.
