Ergonomic and easy to use
Access to the cab and the crew cab is comfortable and safe thanks to wide, anti-slip steps. The driver-oriented cockpit impresses with its clarity, intuitive instruments and an improved field of vision. The steering wheel has a considerable adjustment range. It can easily be adjusted to suit the driver’s physique, thus maintaining driving comfort even in case of alternating drivers. On the inside of the driver’s door, the EasyControl panel is located, which can also be used to control important vehicle functions from the outside.
New in the portfolio: The MAN eTGM for electric fire service vehicles
With the MAN eTGM 16 t 4x2 BL, MAN is expanding its range for fire service and emergency service vehicles with a special new feature: the first series-produced MAN eTruck in the medIum for electrified fire service vehicles. The 16-tonne chassis is specially designed for the requirements of lift rescue vehicles and offers space for supports and add-on components thanks to its central drive concept. For example, the MAN eTGM supports vehicle concepts whereby the chassis, drive and body are specifically adapted to the requirements of the respective deployment scenario.
Key benefits include the 210 kW driveline, the Emergency drive programme for deployment-orientated drive dynamics and fast CCS charging with up to 250 kW. MAN supplies the chassis, while a specialist manufacturer such as Rosenbauer takes care of the fire service-specific body.

MAN drive and driving functions ensure the necessary performance, efficiency and traction in emergency deployment.
To ensure that you arrive at the deployment site quickly and reliably, MAN fire service and rescue vehicles are designed for high operational readiness and situation-specific drive dynamics. Depending on the deployment profile, powerful conventional drives are used in the form of diesel engines or battery-powered electric vehicle concepts.
In conventionally powered rescue vehicles with diesel engines, a so-called official engine is also used, which does not initiate a torque reduction in the event of a possible malfunction in the exhaust gas cleaning system and thus ensures constant operation.
MAN PowerMatic as a converter automatic gearbox for MAN TGL and MAN TGM: The MAN PowerMatic is a converter automatic gearbox in which the gearshift strategy and gearshift process are carried out automatically. The hydrodynamic torque converter enables virtually wear-free pull-away manoeuvres with high acceleration capability. This makes MAN PowerMatic ideally suited for high-performance acceleration when driving dynamically when responding to an emergency call-out and for an efficient and convenient return journey back to the fire station. The MAN TipMatic automated manual gearbox is available for the heavy-duty MAN TGS and MAN TGX series.
Both gearbox types feature the Emergency gearbox software, which enables dynamic deployment driving thanks to high acceleration and optimised gearshift strategy.
An efficient electric driveline with application-orientated drive characteristics is available for electrified applications such as the MAN eTGM.
Thanks to permanent or switchable all-wheel drive, the emergency service vehicles have sufficient traction and grip in poor road conditions or on unsurfaced roads. MAN HydroDrive[Van-LimitsSystem], a switchable hydrostatic front-wheel drive system for MAN TGS and MAN TGX, can be activated at short notice if increased traction is required.
Turnkey fire service vehicles – Made by MAN
Efficiency in fire and disaster prevention means providing faster rescue, more effective extinguishing, more successful protection and safer extrication. To ensure that every fire service is equipped with the vehicle as quickly as possible, MAN offers hookloader vehicles with modern fire fighting equipment ex works.
Equipped with a hydraulic roll-off skip loader from PALFINGER, the 3-axle complete vehicles are available with an NN or TN cab with switchable HydroDrive front-axle drive and an air-sprung centre seat.
The complete hookloader vehicles comply with the relevant standards: DIN EN 1846 Parts 1 & 2, E-DIN 14502-2 and DIN 14505.
In addition, MAN offers the eTGM, a battery-powered electric chassis solution for specific fire service applications, featuring a design realised by Rosenbauer, for example.
