For a relaxed driving experience: Numerous innovative assistance systems in the MAN Lionʼs Coach help ensure that drivers and passengers arrive safely at their destination.
Electric parking brake
Even better driving comfort thanks to easy operation: The new electric parking brake can be operated at any time via the switch to the left of the driver. However, it is also engaged automatically when the coach is parked and releases again automatically when the coach moves off – it could not be more convenient.
MAN Traffic Jam Assist
Relieves the bus driver in queuing traffic: In congested situations on motorways, the traffic jam assist [system-limits-traffic-jam-assist] automatically keeps the lane and will brake to a standstill behind a stopping vehicle and then move off automatically again. This avoids tailgating and reduces the risk of collision.
MAN High Beam Assist
See and be seen better: The new MAN High Beam Assist [Van-LimitsSystem] adjusts the coachʼs dipped-beam and high-beam headlights to the brightness of day and night and ensures that other road users are not accidentally blinded. At the same time, the system improves the visibility of oneʼs own vehicle and relieves the driver and enables him to concentrate even better on the traffic.
MAN Lane Change Support
Facilitates manoeuvring from one lane to another: The new MAN Lane Change Assist [Van-LimitsSystem] warns the bus driver of impending collisions on both sides with other vehicles by acoustic and visual signals when changing lanes from a speed of 50 km/h (31 mph). They occur as soon as the system detects an object travelling parallel or approaching at high speed from behind when changing lanes.
MAN EfficientCruise®
Supports even more economical driving: Taking into account the selected navigation route, the MAN EfficientCruise® GPS-assisted cruise control system detects up and downward gradients along the route up to three kilometres (two miles) in advance. As a result, the system adjusts the selected gear and speed to achieve optimum economy whilst driving. In addition, it activates the MAN EfficientRoll® function if more fuel savings can be achieved this way.
MAN Traffic Sign Detection
To help drivers maintain an overview among a sea of road signs, traffic sign detection (Traffic Sign Information) detects the signage on the road ahead of the coach by combining a camera on the windscreen with GPS data comparison and shows the currently applicable requirements in the display. If, for example, they exceed the permitted speed limit, the system reminds them of the applicable rules by issuing a warning.
Lane Return Assist
Active support with lane keeping: If the coach shows signs of leaving the lane, the lane return assist [Van-LimitsSystem] warns drivers by visual and haptic or acoustic signals. In addition, the system automatically and carefully steers the vehicle back into the correct lane if necessary – before a dangerous situation arises.
MAN Turn Assist
For a better overview in busy inner-city traffic: The radar-based, actively warning turn assist [Van-LimitsSystem] defuses critical situations at intersections. A warning signal is issued visually as well as acoustically in the event of dangerous situations or when impending collisions are detected, for example, if other road users are in the area of the right side of the vehicle, which is often difficult to see, or directly in front of the vehicle.
MAN OptiView
Ideal view: The digital MAN OptiView mirror replacement system [Van-LimitsSystem] provides an excellent overview of the traffic situation. When turning, manoeuvring and changing lanes, the blind spot becomes visible by means of two cameras on each side of the vehicle. Since the system does not require conventional mirror arms, your journeys will not only be safer but also more economical.
