Extension for side panels

The side panel extensions made of high-quality plastic almost completely close the side gap between the cab and the semitrailer/body. This achieves a particularly effective aerodynamic airflow around the entire vehicle – even in crosswinds.
Side panels with extensions make a considerable contribution to reducing fuel consumption. They also reduce wind noise and soiling and visually enhance the vehicle.
The extensions are made of elastically deformable (reversible) high-quality plastic.

The extensions are only useful in combination with a roof spoiler with aerodynamic reversible extensions. In order to precisely close the gap between the side panel and the roof spoiler at the top and thus achieve a flow-optimised transition, spoiler-like elements are mounted between the roof spoiler and side panel. They likewise have aerodynamic reversible extensions and are designed in such a way that the contour of the cab roof continues to the rear and is flush with both the side panels and the roof spoiler, closing the gap.

Note

The extensions can only be attached if the side panels can be folded on both sides and a hinge with a lock (81.62940-6005) is installed on the two lower brackets. Aero package hinge 81.62940-6004 is sufficient on the two upper brackets.
Approximately 50 fastening clips are required for installation.

Installation by a MAN service outlet is recommended.
