In 2023, companies active in freight transport can still save up to 33,000 euros and take advantage of state funding through the “De minimis” programme of the BAG (German Federal Office for the Transport of Goods). This helps reinforce safety for road freight involving heavy goods vehicles long term as well as sustainably reducing any environmental pollution to a minimum, by lowering emissions and reducing material consumption. MAN offers you numerous options for this in order to benefit from the various subsidy measures on the part of the Federal Government, to organise your vehicle fleet even more economically, and to be able to claim up to 80 % of the associated expenses. Applications can be submitted online to the German Federal Office for the Transport of Goods (BAG) until 30/09/2023.

Up to what amount is funding possible?

There is no restriction on the amount of the measure to be funded. The basis for calculating the subsidy is € 2,000 multiplied by the number of vehicles ≥ 7.5 t gross train weight that were registered by companies in accordance with § 1 of the Road Haulage Act (GüKG) on 01 December of the previous year or have been registered since then (maximum € 33,000 or 17 vehicles).

As part of the harmonisation of tolls for road haulage companies, the Federal Government provides, among other things, the “training and further education” support programme.Below you will find two examples of what state funding for MAN ProfiDrive practical training courses can look like.

Funding example 1: BAG further education, current further education catalogue, item 1–5.5 (non-professional driver)

For external measures from this area, the funding basis is composed as follows:

  • training costs incurred
  • Fixed rate of funding per participant of € 12 per lesson for any personnel costs incurred
  • Fixed rate of funding per training day and participant with € 30 for any other costs incurred

The actual funding amount is as follows:

  • For small enterprises up to 70 % of the funding basis
  • For medium-sized enterprises up to 60 % of the funding basis
  • For other applicants up to 50 % of the funding basis

  1. The possible personal contribution is calculated by subtracting the state funding from the participation fee! There is no entitlement on the part of the applicant. The granting authority decides on the basis of its dutiful discretion within the framework of the available budget funds.
