Roof-mounted air-conditioning system

For relaxing rest times. With the MAN Genuine auxiliary air-conditioning systems, the truck driver can have a relaxing break in the cab without having to leave the engine running for hours and consuming large amounts of fuel. A well-rested driver also increases safety. Due to their highly-efficient technology, they provide quick and reliable cooling for up to 12 h at low operating costs. The compact, battery-operated roof-mounted air-conditioning system for trucks can easily be installed into the existing roof hatch.

Note

It is recommended that the vehicle is equipped with a 225-Ah battery and with the higher-performance Longlife Eco generator. The system’s preset undervoltage protection must not be altered. After using the system for an extended period, we recommend starting up the vehicle before using another power consumer in order to avoid draining the battery. If the auxiliary air-conditioning system changes the total height of the vehicle, this must be documented in the vehicle papers. The national regulations take precedence over technically permitted dimensions and weights if they include restrictions on the technically permitted dimensions and weights. Cooltronic G2.5 auxiliary air-conditioning system

MAN Genuine roof-mounted air-conditioning systems ensure relaxing breaks and rest periods in the cab under optimum conditions. They also increase the driver’s attention and thus ensure increased safety on the road. They are independent air conditioning systems with electric air compressors and a closed circuit that automatically adjusts its cooling output to the lowest possible power consumption.

Thanks to the special two-part design, the truck roof-mounted air-conditioning system can be mounted below the roof spoiler and is therefore particularly suitable for MAN TGX GM or XLX vehicles with cab of medium height and roof spoiler. However, the MAN Cooltronic G2.5 can also be used with all other MAN TG vehicles with long cab.

MAN SPX 1200 auxiliary air-conditioning system for roof and rear wall mounting

The auxiliary air-conditioning system is designed for relaxing rest periods at standstill. Thanks to its efficient technology, it cools quickly and reliably. The extra flat roof unit saves space and hardly affects the overall height of the roof. Therefore, it is also suitable for TGX vehicles with GM or XLX cab and roof spoiler.

The evaporator unit SPX 1200T (in the roof hatch) and the condenser unit SPX 1200C (on the rear wall) are installed separately (split mounted).

Notes

  • Vehicles for swap bodies may not be suitable for the installation of the SPX 1200C rear wall unit. Therefore, the distance between the rear wall of the cab and the body must be checked.
  • To avoid damage to the roof-mounted air conditioner or the spoiler, it is mandatory to use the supplied spoiler spacers on the GM cab from MY 2020 onwards.
  • Changes or modifications to the roof spoiler are generally not permitted and will invalidate the vehicle’s operating permit.
  • It is recommended that the vehicle is equipped with a 225-Ah battery and with the higher-performance Longlife Eco generator.
