MAN makes children's eyes light up with FC Bayern experience

Children from the SOS Children's Village Ammersee-Lech took the FC Bayern team bus from MAN to the Allianz Arena in Munich.

The young soccer fans from the SOS Children's Village Ammersee-Lech are in Christmas fever. A total of 24 children and young people aged between six and eighteen were taken on a trip to the Allianz Arena in the MAN FC Bayern team bus.

Once there, they were greeted by FC Bayern mascot Berni and the mascot gave the kids gift bags with chocolate and small footballs. This was followed by an exclusive tour of the stadium plus a whole load of expert knowledge. As a memento of this special excursion, the children were able to pick out an early Christmas present in the FC Bayern fan store before taking the Bayern bus back home to the Ammersee.

"Social and ecological responsibility is an integral part of our sustainability strategy at MAN. The SOS Children's Villages are an important social institution for giving children in need a future. And so we are particularly pleased that we were able to bring a smile to the children's faces with this initiative." explains Arne Puls, Chief Human Resources Officer and Labour Director at MAN Truck & Bus SE.

MAN and the SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. have had a long-term and trusting partnership since 2008. The company also supports the charitable organization financially with national and international programs. MAN has also been a sponsor of FC Bayern Munich for many years. So what could be more obvious than bringing the two partnerships together to give the children an unforgettable pre-Christmas experience?

Mission Possible: Hero on icy roads

Spring is already introducing mild air here in Germany, yet Norway is still in the depths of winter. Temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees, snow storms, zero visibility. Extreme for some, but for young Ola Andersen it’s just all in a day’s work. With the help of his MAN TGS, Ola secures an essential winter lifeline for the Norwegian community of Rødberg.

The alpine truck arrives

The idyll is deceptive: Every trip to collect milk from mountain pastures is risky. Steep ascents, narrow gravel roads, 1,600 metres height difference and 15,000 litres of milk await the driver. Fortunately, he’s able to rely on his truck when manoeuvring at the cliff edge. The MAN TGS 26.500 with HydroDrive is his life insurance.
