“WITH COACH TO COAST”: a very special road trip

Bus driver and influencer Magne Håheim sets out on his road trip from Munich to the Mediterranean in the MAN Lion’s Coach, facing great challenges along the way. There will be a new episode on the MAN social media channels every 14 days.

Summer is here at last! For most people, that means getting out into the world and discovering new places. And that’s just what Magne Håheim is doing – the photographer from Oslo is a dyed-in-the-wool bus freak and this year has no appetite for the 18-degree outdoor temperatures and rain. To make his escape from the Norwegian weather, he has asked MAN to help. With the MAN Lion's Coach model year 2024, the photographer and YouTuber starts a road trip full of challenges from Munich to the Mediterranean.

In the new video series, “With Coach to Coast”, Magne Håheim embarks on a 700-kilometre trip to his dream destination, Italy. His starting point is Munich, home to MAN’s headquarters and its main production plant. From there, the journey continues to Lake Achen and Innsbruck, and then on to Verona, Bologna and Pisa. It’s a wonderful route for Magne, who describes himself as an absolute bus enthusiast: “I grew up in Oslo, but my family is from western Norway, 500 kilometres away from Oslo,” explains the 35-year-old Norwegian. “My mother often took me there on the bus to visit. My uncle also has a truck business, so buses and trucks have always been a key part of my life”!

Magne Håheim, bus influencer

His passion for buses and trucks eventually led Magne to his current job as a landscape and automotive photographer and YouTuber. MAN is now giving him the opportunity to test the MAN Lion’s Coach model year 2024 on the open road, and to see its latest features for himself. The steep mountain roads and narrow streets in Italy are enough to bring any bus driver out in a cold sweat. Will the bus survive all the challenges? The MAN AttentionGuard is certainly in demand on the tour through the Alps: the assistance system identifies changes to driving behaviour and uses screen warnings and audible alarms to ensure that the driver’s concentration returns to the road.

This is just one of the many features of the MAN Lion’s Coach that will ensure that Magne’s road trip from Munich to Italy is as pleasant and comfortable as possible. One thing is certain, the content creator definitely won’t get bored: plenty of exciting challenges will give the bus influencer the opportunity not only to prove his driving skills, but also to gain a thorough knowledge of the MAN Lion’s Coach model year 2024 and its multifunctional assistance systems. Will the parking brakes of the MAN Lion's Coach withstand the endurance test of parking and starting on the ultra-steep mountain roads in Austria? And what does the biggest graffiti in Bologna look like that Magne "paints" on the roads with the Navigator?

Magne Håheim will be tackling these and many other challenges in his new series, “With Coach to Coast”. MAN will be following his odyssey through the picturesque landscapes and beautiful towns closely on all its social media channels on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.

Mission Possible: Hero on icy roads

The alpine truck arrives

The idyll is deceptive: Every trip to collect milk from mountain pastures is risky. Steep ascents, narrow gravel roads, 1,600 metres height difference and 15,000 litres of milk await the driver. Fortunately, he’s able to rely on his truck when manoeuvring at the cliff edge. The MAN TGS 26.500 with HydroDrive is his life insurance.
