"My work was my salvation"
An impressive life story: Guillaume Levaillant is a passionate truck driver, managing director of Paratrans, the transport company he set up – and he has been paralysed from the age of 22 years old. That hasn’t hindered this entrepreneur. We visited the genuine workaholic in the North of France.
On course with his MAN TGX - Guillaume Levaillant likes to park the truck right outside his front door.
After a small breakfast, Levaillant sets off for his first stop of the day.
Levaillant extends its lifting platform for easy boarding of the cab.
The lift and platform are attached diretctly to the truck and were made specifically for it and its needs.
Once he is comfortably seated in his driver's seat, all he has to do is stow the wheelchair.
The wheelchair finds its place on the couch in the spacious driver's cabin.

My contact at MAN had shown trust in me from the very start. “
Everyone knows me and I don't have any more issues than any other driver. “
At the entrance to the quarry, an employee hands him the necessary documents directly by the driver's cab. This way, Levaillant wastes no time.
Then Levaillant makes his way directly to the quarry where the red sand is loaded.
The entire trailer of the MAN TGX is filled with the fine sand.
Sandstone is very popular in the construction industry because it is frost-free and easy to work with.
After the first loading at 7 a.m., it goes to the delivery location without any detours.
This is followed by four to six, and if necessary up to twelve, further trips per day. Levaillant drives between 350 and 450 kilometres every day.
"I love driving trucks! As soon as I grip the steering wheel, I feel like I'm on holiday", says Guillaume Levaillant
The busy workaholic and managing director of Paratrans is particulary looking forward to the futrue. "The main thing is to keep moving", says Levaillant.
