-
Extended field of vision
Instead of classic mirror arms, cameras detect all relevant fields of vision and transmit the traffic situation in full and in real time to monitors in the cockpit.
-
Situation-dependent views
Depending on the driving situation, different views, such as standard, wide-angle or zoom view, are available and provide support when driving and manoeuvring.
-
HD display in the cockpit
High-resolution displays in the driver’s environment show the camera image adapted to the lighting conditions and provide additional orientation aids such as reference lines and supporting overlays, depending on the situation.
Clear vision for enhanced safety
Close-range and wide-angle cameras
MAN OptiView[Van-LimitsSystem] works with a short-range and a wide-angle camera. The displays not only show the legally required field of vision, but also offer an extended view of the direct vehicle environment with the wide-angle view.
Two cameras don each side of the vehicle capture different fields of vision and display them in combination. This means that the side and rear areas can be viewed simultaneously – for comfortable and safe driving with virtually no blind spots, even in complex traffic situations.
Automatic views and supporting display
Depending on the driving situation, the system automatically provides suitable views such as standard, wide-angle or zoom views, supporting the driver when driving, turning and manoeuvring. The display is divided into several areas so that relevant fields of vision can be monitored in parallel.
The views can be controlled automatically or adjusted manually. In addition, reference and guide lines support the orientation in the image. They help to better estimate distances, vehicle length and position and can be adapted to the respective vehicle.
Clear image and optimised visibility
The system automatically filters out disruptions in the camera footage (for example, caused by raindrops, dirt and mirror vibration) and optimises brightness and contrast.
At the same time, the display adapts to light and weather conditions so that the traffic situation remains clearly visible even at dusk, at night or in poor weather conditions.
