A strong week for MAN

Six days of the trade fair, a packed stand in Hall 11, and a clear signal: MAN is continuing to drive the transformation of transport forward with determination. There was considerable interest in the vehicles and technologies, with a steady stream of visitors at the MAN stand as well as for the test drives on the exhibition grounds. 

The star attraction of this year’s appearance was the new eTGX, which offers a range of up to 660 kilometres as a 4x2 tractor unit and up to 720 kilometres as a 6x2 variant with a seventh battery. “The world premiere of the new MAN eTGX was undoubtedly the highlight of the trade fair,” said Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus. “The excitement, interest and enthusiasm of customers, drivers, partners and the media once again confirmed that this truck will play a decisive role in shaping the future of transport.” 

Providing a contrast were the new 60-tonne tipper based on the TGS 8x4, built for mining applications, and the MAN vans, including two near-production electric innovation vehicles based on the TGE and developed with Swiss engineering partner Flux. 

Feedback at the stand was consistently positive: visitors were enthusiastic about the breadth of the MAN portfolio – and the fact that the transformation in the commercial vehicle sector could be experienced first-hand in Hanover. 

The trade fair programme also included what makes eTrucks suitable for everyday use in the first place: in Hall 14/15, MAN and charging-infrastructure partner Milence demonstrated megawatt charging every day. Charging from 20 to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes is short enough to fit within the driver’s mandatory break. This is important for logistics companies looking to minimise vehicle downtime: the first eTGX and eTGS models with MCS technology have been rolling off the production line since the end of July.

A great team effort 

A trade fair appearance of this scale does not succeed by itself; it is the result of months of preparation. It took three weeks alone to set up the 2,200-square-metre MAN stand in Hanover. And throughout the trade fair week, 130 MAN employees were working at the stand each day – some providing visitors with information, while others looked after food and refreshments.
