MAN ProfiDrive: Efficiency training

Discover how anticipatory driving and efficient driving techniques can reduce your operating costs and increase the efficiency of your fleet. Our training course teaches specific methods for reducing consumption and maintenance costs by using assist systems to your advantage. Comprehensive instruction in vehicle functions, assist systems and economical driving.

Efficiency training is divided into two areas:

1. Theory

  • Teaching the basics for a fuel-saving and low-wear driving style.  
  • Explanation of the influencing factors on efficiency, such as road resistances.  
  • Hands-on use and explanation of the functions of modern assist systems in the driver’s workplace.

2. Practice

  • Driving under guidance to establish an efficient driving style and its effect.  
  • Practical training on adopting an anticipatory driving style.  
  • Use of driver assist systems to optimise fuel consumption.

Efficiency training

Our "Intensive efficiency training" is aimed at specialists and managers who want to sustainably increase the efficiency of their fleet. In this comprehensive 3-day programme, you will become an expert in efficient driving and can act as a multiplier in your company. Your knowledge will help you educate colleagues, to positively influence profitability and sustainability.

What you will learn

The training course complies with the Professional Driver Qualification Act (BKrFQG) and covers important topics such as active and passive safety in theory. Incidentally, our efficiency training (with the exception of intensive efficiency training), can also be funded by the Federal Office for Goods Transport as professional driver training. You will learn how to:

  • Detect hazardous situations and react appropriately.
  • Drive to save fuel while minimising wear.
  • Make optimum use of assist systems such as Emergency Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
  • Mitigate the consequences of accidents by familiarising yourself with restraint systems for the driver and co-driver as well as optimised cab deformation behaviour.
  • Share your knowledge within the company as a multiplier.

On the practical side, you will learn how to achieve savings and increase economic efficiency in traffic with anticipatory driving. We handle topics such as maintenance costs and fleet management as well as analysing consumption values from the on-board computer.
