Towards an emission free future
As a commercial vehicle manufacturer, MAN sees itself in a special responsibility to contribute to climate protection with all its might. 98 percent of our CO2 emissions are caused by the use of our vehicles. We can only achieve climate and fleet goals with emission-neutral vehicles. The electrification of commercial vehicles is the decisive factor for MAN on the way to emission-free mobility.

Focus on e-mobility
In zero-emission technologies, we clearly focus on BEV. We have directed our development activities towards it and are investing heavily in new manufacturing facilities for batteries for our vehicles.

Hydrogen alternatives
However, we are also working on drives based on hydrogen that can complement battery-electric drives: fuel cells and combustion engines.
To enable our customers to run their business not just in a more sustainable way, but also extremely economically and reliably, we focus on battery-electrically powered commercial vehicles. We offer electric buses and trucks and also work with partners to establish a consistent charging infrastructure.

On our way to make MAN products more climate-friendly the battery plays a crucial role. We are investing into the continous development of our technology and expect significant advancements with daily ranges of up to 1,000 km in the coming years and charging times of about half an hour. However, we also work on hydrogen alternatives that can complement the battery-electric drives.
