The system can thus help increase active safety on monotonous sections of motorways and dual carriageways and during night-time journeys, helping to prevent accidents.

Warning the driver
A multifunction camera behind the windscreen continuously scans the left and right lane markings. If, at speeds of around 60 km/h or above, the vehicle touches a lane marking or leaves its lane without the indicator being activated, a corrective steering intervention warns the driver and automatically guides the vehicle back into its lane.
Takeover request
If Lane Assist detects no active steering movement or no hands on the steering wheel, it prompts the driver via the instrumentation to take over steering. A warning tone also sounds and can intensify to a continuous warning tone.
