MAN Driver App

With the MAN Driver App[flottenmanagement-verfuegbarkeit][roaming], drivers always have important information and valuable features at hand. It helps to make the driver’s everyday life easier and more efficient, and offers various free functions.

It also enables drivers to access selected digital services. After booking the chargeable service via the MAN Marketplace on the RIO platform and registering the driver with RIO via the app, the driver can access individual data and functions. These include driving style analysis with Perform, access to driving times and rest periods with Timed, and contactless refuelling and parking transactions with MAN SimplePay. Perform and Timed are included in the digital package for MAN eTGS and eTGX for five years.

In addition, the app offers valuable MAN eTruck features that are tailored to the requirements of electromobility.

  • Guided digital departure check and damage notification
    The driver has the option of carrying out the pre-departure check quickly and easily using a digital checklist. In addition, regardless of the pre-departure check, they can document damage, including images, at any time. Everything is saved in the app. If the driver is registered with RIO via the MAN Driver App, they can send the information to the fleet manager. The fleet manager can view the data on the RIO platform. If the free MAN ServiceCare S service has been booked via the MAN Marketplace, the fleet manager can also forward the damage reports to the MAN service outlet via MAN ServiceCare.
  • Digital operator's manual
    If you have any questions about the vehicle, the digital operator’s manual supports you in the respective language, with a search function for quick answers. This feature is available for MAN trucks produced from January 2026 onwards.
  • Identification of vehicle buttons and switches using the scan function
    The app uses a scan to detect selected buttons and switches in the vehicle and shows their meaning directly. This feature is available for MAN trucks from model year 2020.
  • Expert videos
    Short videos provide valuable information on selected vehicles.

    The app shows the fastest way to the nearest MAN service outlet.
  • MAN Mobile24 Breakdown Service

    With the driving and rest time display, the driver can better plan their rest times and breaks and is better protected against driving time violations. Booking the chargeable Timed digital service and registering the driver via the RIO app are necessary for this function. Timed is included in the digital package for MAN eTGS and eTGX for five years.
  • Individual driving style analysis
    The MAN Driver App provides the driver with his individual performance data. This knowledge enables him to drive in the most resource-efficient way possible. For this function, it is necessary to book the chargeable digital service Perform and register the driver via the app. Perform is included in the digital package for MAN eTGS and eTGX for five years.
  • Parking booking and contactless processing of parking and refuelling transactions
    With MAN SimplePay and the MAN Driver App, drivers can make contactless refuelling transactions at selected acceptance points. In addition, the driver can quickly find and book parking spaces and also carry out the transaction contactlessly. The fleet manager has the option of viewing the transactions in MAN SimplePay on the RIO platform. Booking the chargeable MAN SimplePay digital service on the MAN Marketplace on the RIO platform and registering the driver via the RIO app are necessary for these functions. The use of MAN SimplePay requires the storage of a card from a cooperating card partner. Parking bookings and contactless transactions are possible at selected acceptance points.
  • Remote air conditioning
    The cab can be conveniently pre-conditioned via the MAN Driver App. This function is available for MAN eTrucks from model year 2026 with the corresponding software version and after the driver has registered with RIO via the app. Cooling is also possible with a Climatronic air-conditioning system.
  • Charging and battery information and push notifications
    With the MAN Driver App, MAN eTruck drivers always have important charging and battery information at hand. In addition, the driver is informed by push notification of important status changes (e.g. when a charging process has been completed or there is a charging fault). Booking the chargeable MAN eManager M digital service and registering the driver via the RIO app are necessary for these functions. The MAN eManager M is included in the digital package for MAN eTrucks for five years.
  • Easily find eTruck-specific charging locations
    With the MAN Driver App, MAN eTruck drivers can quickly and easily find charging locations for MAN Charge&Go[charge-go-verfuegbarkeit]. MAN Charge&Go is an eTruck-specific charging tariff for public charging. The MAN Charge&Go charging network is specially designed for commercial vehicles and is continuously being expanded to include suitable charging locations. To display MAN Charge&Go charging locations in the MAN Driver App, the service must be booked via the MAN Marketplace on the RIO platform and the driver must be registered with RIO via the app.

Frequently Asked Questions

The app and many of its functions are free to download. The telephone number 00800 Mobile 24 is generally free of charge. However, mobile and roaming charges may be incurred by your mobile service provider for calling our breakdown service MAN Mobile24 and using the mobile internet, depending on the tariff.

In order for drivers to access individual data from selected digital services, the corresponding service must be booked via the MAN Marketplace on the RIO platform. This requires registration on the RIO platform . You can find out the costs for these services on the MAN Marketplace on the RIO platform.        

You can use the basic functions of the MAN Driver App without a RIO account. To do this, simply add your vehicle in the app, specifying the VIN.

To use features that require you to book a digital service, you can sign up yourself in just a few steps:

 

  • Create a RIO account in the app the first time you start. If you have already used the app without a RIO account, you will find the button for this in the settings as well as on the app's home screen.
  • To create your account, enter your vehicle's VIN number, the number of your driver card and your user name (email address or mobile phone number). You will then receive a confirmation link by e-mail or SMS. This link will take you back to the registration page, where you can choose your personal password and complete the registration by clicking on “send”.
  • Restart the App and log in with your user name and password. Done.

 

Important: Self-registration in the MAN Driver App is only possible under the following three conditions: 1. The vehicle associated with the VIN number entered is registered on the RIO platform. 2. Your driver card has been scanned at least once in a vehicle registered on the RIO platform. 3. The “Self-registration” option is enabled in the user administration on the RIO platform .

We have integrated the Perform section into our driver app for this purpose. The feature clearly presents the performance data of your tours. Continuous analysis of your personal driving style enables you to sustainably optimise your driver performance in order to reduce wear and save fuel.

Important: The display of the performance values requires that the digital Perform service is booked for your vehicle on the RIO platform.

Displaying of data in the MAN Driver App requires the assignment to a driver card. For this reason, only the individual information for the logged-in driver is ever visible in the MAN Driver App. As fleet manager, you can view all information on the RIO platform.
