  • Blind spot protection on driver’s and co-driver’s side [van-assistance-systems-optional-1] [van-blind-spot-assistant]

Radar sensors monitor the side area, which is difficult to see, thus reducing the risk of a collision when turning [Van-LimitsSystem].

  • Helps to prevent accidents

Warns [Van-LimitsSystem] visually and acoustically of impending collisions with pedestrians or cyclists when driving off or travelling at slow speeds.

  • Improved safety and reduced stress

Helps to increase safety for vulnerable road users and reduces stress for the driver, particularly in urban areas.

The MAN TGE maintains the overview

Blind spot warning in action

The assistance system supports the driver [Van-LimitsSystem] in recognising cyclists and pedestrians in the area commonly called blind spot at speeds of up to 30 km/h. If its radar sensors detect a vulnerable road user in the hazard zone, it warns the driver in three stages – visually in the side mirror and acoustically.

Stage 1

Visual warning via a light in the side mirror: Cyclists and/or pedestrians are located in the danger zone.

Stage 2

Visual warning via a flashing light in the side mirror: Collision expected.

Stage 3

Optical and acoustic acute warning: Collision expected – immediate reaction of the driver is required.

Drive-off warning in action

The system helps the driver [Van-LimitsSystem] to recognise weaker road users in the area in front of the vehicle at speeds of up to 10 km/h. If it detects cyclists and pedestrians in the danger zone, a two-stage warning is issued – visually in the instrumentation and acoustically.

Stage 1

Message: Cyclists and/or pedestrians are located in the hazard zone.

Stage 2

Warning: Collision expected.
