Integrated Emergency Assist
Automatically brakes in emergency situations and activates the hazard warning lights to secure the vehicle.
Comfortable cruising, safer arrival
Cleverly combined functions
Cruise Assist Plus[van-additionalcosts-automatic-gear-availability][Van-LimitsSystem] combines the functions of Lane Keeping Assist, (predictive)[van-n1-fahrzeuge] adaptive cruise control and Driving Assist to actively assist the driver in maintaining the distance, speed and lane. The system combines partially automated control of acceleration and braking with lateral control of the steering movements to keep the vehicle in its lane. In addition, the integrated Emergency Assist monitors the driver's activity with regard to the accelerator pedal, steering and brake. If the driver fails to react in an exceptional situation, e.g. due to a medical condition, Emergency Assist can take control of the vehicle. It brings the vehicle to a standstill, activates the hazard warning lights to secure it and initiates an eCall.
Maintains a constant distance
A total of five distance settings are available, ranging from very short to very long. If a vehicle ahead is detected, the system[van-additionalcosts-automatic-gear-availability][Van-LimitsSystem] automatically adapts the speed of the MAN van to the current traffic situation, thereby maintaining the necessary distance from the vehicle ahead. In addition, predictive cruise control[van-n1-fahrzeuge] takes route and traffic information into account at speeds between 0 and 160 km/h and adjusts the speed in good time to suit the situation. If the van comes to a standstill, the system can partially automatically move off again. After a corresponding message, the driver confirms moving off again by tapping the accelerator pedal. To continuously detect traffic and road markings, Cruise Assist Plus[van-additionalcosts-automatic-gear-availability][Van-LimitsSystem] uses a camera installed behind the rear view mirror and radar sensors in the bumper.
Safe lane guidance
To stay in the lane at all times, Cruise Assist Plus[van-additionalcosts-automatic-gear-availability] helps prevent the vehicle from unintentionally leaving its lane by automatically making the necessary corrective steering interventions. To accomplish this, the detected lane markings provide orientation. Important: Although the system[van-additionalcosts-automatic-gear-availability][Van-LimitsSystem] assists with keeping the vehicle in its lane, the driver must still keep their hands on the steering wheel to maintain control of the van at all times. In addition, the system[van-additionalcosts-automatic-gear-availability] also assists with intentional lane changes. If the sensors detect a vehicle in the adjacent lane, the technology uses corrective steering interventions to help prevent a collision.
Keeps you informed
The display in the cockpit continuously informs the driver about the status of the assistance system: The distance to the vehicle ahead and its speed are clearly shown. It also provides information on the corrective steering direction or lane keeping.
