With three-stage warning cascade for more safety. In today’s traffic, drivers actually need a few extra eyes. This is what the MAN Truck Generation offers: Thanks to the intelligent fusion of radar sensors and a video camera, the system keeps an eye on everything within a radius of almost 180° on the co-driver’s side as soon as the speed falls below 30 km/h.
Stage 1
If a moving object is in the warning area, the driver is visually alerted via the warning corners on the MAN OptiView display or via a light on the LED strip on the A-pillar (e.g. when turning or when an object approaches from behind).
Stage 2
If the course of movement will likely lead to a collision, further warning stages will be triggered on the A-pillar depending on the urgency. Stage 2: All three LED lights illuminate, and a continuous warning frame appears in the MAN OptiView display.
Stage 3
If immediate driver intervention is required to prevent a collision, level 3 is activated: All three LED lights flash or the warning frame in the MAN OptiView display flashes, and an acoustic warning signal also sounds.
Stage 4
If the driver does not react and a collision is imminent, the system actively applies the service brake and automatically brakes the truck to a standstill.
