An additional view to the side
Nanoradar sensors on the left and right at the front of the vehicle detect the area to the side ahead of the vehicle. The Front Cross Traffic Assist[Van-AdditionalCosts][Van-LimitsSystem][van-verfuegbarkeit-paket-city] provides the driver with an additional “view to the side”. Provided that road users are not obscured by buildings, parked vehicles or other obstacles.
Greater safety in critical situations
If cross traffic approaches and the system detects a possible risk of collision, it alerts the driver according to the situation, initially visually via yellow warning arrows in the digital instrument cluster and, as the risk increases, more clearly with a warning symbol, red warning arrows and an acoustic signal.
Support at the critical moment
If a quick response is required, the Front Cross Traffic Assist[Van-AdditionalCosts][Van-LimitsSystem][van-verfuegbarkeit-paket-city] can brake automatically. The function is available at speeds from 0 km/h to 85 km/h and, if necessary, can brake the van to a standstill or slow it down until the risk of collision has been reduced as far as possible.
