A driver encounters a critical situation on wet roads. ESP and the emergency braking assistant intervene, but without prior experience, the driver may react incorrectly. 
With MAN ProfiDrive safety training, the driver has already experienced these scenarios on a test track or on the road. The driver understands how the assistance systems respond, remains calm, works together with the technology and is therefore able to prevent the accident confidently. This is where MAN Connected CoDriver comes in: Personal coaching by phone during breaks, seamlessly integrated into everyday operations. Based on previously analysed Perform data, the MAN ProfiDrive trainer provides specific recommendations on how to reduce consumption and maximise range, for example through more effective use of assistance systems and a more economical driving style.

Data-driven, individual driver performance analysis helps identify opportunities for improvement. Combined with coaching, this can gradually lead to more economical driving and fuel savings of up to 10%.

Theoretical scenario: "The invisible co-pilot"

An experienced driver has been driving the same regular route for years. Consumption is stable, but not yet optimal.

Based on telematics data from Perform, the MAN ProfiDrive trainer can also identify, almost in real time, where driving style and system usage can be optimised, and where increased coasting could improve efficiency. The trainer discusses with the driver how to make the best use of cruise control and driving programs. This makes efficiency gains directly visible in everyday driving and helps establish them over the long term.

With the MAN Driver app, drivers can report issues to their team managers easily and efficiently.

Centralised data, optimal overview

Inaccurate departure checks and damage reports, paper forms and miscommunication cost time and create unnecessary stress. The MAN Driver App supports structured and traceable departure checks with the help of a digital checklist. Departure checks and documented damage reports, including photos, are stored in the app, making them accessible at any time and easy to forward to the fleet manager.  

In addition, the digital operating manual in the MAN Driver App provides support with vehicle-related questions. Using the search function, drivers can quickly and easily find exactly the information they need, without having to flip through manuals. Using the scan function, drivers can also instantly access explanations for selected buttons and switches in the truck.

Theoretical scenario: "Damage in the morning"

Early in the morning, a driver discovers a crack in the indicator light cover during the departure check. Rather than making time-consuming phone calls, the driver takes a photo of the damage using the MAN Driver App and reports it directly as part of the departure check. The fleet manager can view the departure check and damage report in the RIO platform. If MAN ServiceCare is also booked, the damage report can be forwarded directly to the MAN service centre. The service centre can then combine the report with other upcoming work and suggest a suitable workshop appointment to the fleet manager. This keeps processes transparent and well structured, and helps drivers start their journey with greater peace of mind.

MAN ProfiDrive offers a wide range of training courses, from professional driver qualification training and efficiency training aimed at improving fuel economy, to driver safety training for trucks, buses and vans, as well as specialised modules on off-road driving and e-mobility. Training content can also be tailored to specific operational needs and fleet requirements when necessary.

Yes. MAN Connected CoDriver combines telematics data from Perform with personal driver coaching by phone. A MAN ProfiDrive trainer analyses individual driving data and discusses the results with the driver, for example during a driving break. The trainer does not need to be physically present in the vehicle, but supports drivers over an extended period and across many real-life routes.

The MAN Driver App can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. All basic features are available free of charge, including the digital departure check and damage reporting, the digital vehicle operating manual, the quick recognition function for buttons and switches in the truck, the MAN service centre search, expert videos and the charging status display for MAN eTrucks. Additional features such as driving style analysis (Perform), driving and rest time monitoring (Timed) and the contactless processing of refuelling and parking transactions (MAN SimplePay) require a RIO customer account and activation of the corresponding digital service. Drivers also register with RIO directly through the MAN Driver App.

Yes. MAN ProfiDrive also offers dedicated training modules for electric trucks, covering topics such as high-voltage safety, recuperation and range optimisation. This helps drivers learn how to use the technology efficiently and safely handle the specific requirements of eTrucks. Important: The data-driven telephone coaching service MAN Connected CoDriver is also available for MAN eTrucks.
