Turn warning in operation
The assistance system supports the driver in detecting cyclists and pedestrians in the so-called blind spot at speeds of up to 30 km/h[Van-LimitsSystem]. If the side radar sensors detect a vulnerable road user in the danger zone, the turn warning alerts the driver visually in the side mirror and additionally acoustically, depending on the warning level.
Stage 1
Visual warning by lights in the side mirror: Cyclists and/or pedestrians are in the danger zone.
Level 2 (can be deactivated)
Visual warning by flashing in the side mirror: Collision expected.
Level 3 (can be deactivated)
Visual and acoustic acute warning: Collision expected – immediate reaction by the driver is required.
Moving-off warning in action
The system helps the driver prevent collisions with vulnerable road users in the immediate area in front of the vehicle[Van-LimitsSystem] – at speeds of 0 to 10 km/h. If the front radar sensors detect cyclists or people in the danger zone, a two-stage warning is issued visually in the instrument cluster and acoustically.
Stage 1
Driver information: Road users in the danger zone without a risk of collision – a visual warning is displayed in the instrument cluster.
Stage 2
Warning: Collision expected – visual and acoustic warning.
Important: The vehicle does not brake independently.
