We get things moving

Automotive Mechatronics Engineer Dominic from MAN

How I arrived at MAN

My father has a transport company and so he has a long-standing relationship with MAN. I have therefore grown up with the company since my childhood. While I was still at school, I did work experience at MAN and knew immediately that I wanted to become part of the MAN family. Since joining MAN, I have had no regrets and look forward to coming to work each and every day.

What I currently do at MAN

I am an automotive mechatronics engineer for commercial vehicles, a trainer and also involved in the works council. I work at the service company in Ludwigshafen. Alongside my day-to-day work, I am also involved in the training of future automotive mechatronics engineers and, as a member of the works council, deal with current issues and concerns.

I get things moving because

I spend my days working on vans, buses, trucks, ships and trains that transport goods for us every day and keep everyday life going. This might be getting food to the nearest supermarket, driving children to school, delivering an Amazon order or supplying heating oil for the home. In summary, I get things moving in order to keep the economy going.

Why I like working at MAN

MAN is an employer that not only promises a work-life balance but also ensures this promise is put into practice. A wide range of different jobs are available so I can keep gaining new skills. In addition, MAN is like a big family to me. I keep up to date with the latest technology at all times thanks to further training. My duties allow me to grow every day, as there is always something new for me to learn and discover at MAN.

Automotive Mechatronics Engineer Eileen from MAN

How I arrived at MAN

After school I looked for an apprenticeship. I found out about MAN on the internet and applied. The interview was really friendly and I am now very happy here.

What I currently do at MAN

I work as an automotive mechatronics engineer in the workshop of the service company. Here I service and reassemble vehicles, and get them back on the road. This includes servicing, getting the brakes going again, installing and removing the gearbox - that kind of thing. The biggest challenge here is always needing to be quick. When the vehicles are with us in the workshop, the customers can't use them to earn any money.

What I am particularly proud of

I am proud to be able to work for MAN and hope that I can be here for many years to come.

Why I like working at MAN

The working atmosphere here is great, because it's really more like being in a family business. I really like going to work. There are not many people who can say that. It is also good to develop as you work. The variety is also great. There is lots of contact with customers, and also with the drivers. And it gives you a real boost when they say, “You've done that really well” or, “Wow, that was quick”.
