The first step is to apply for your desired apprenticeship by submitting the necessary documents via the MAN careers portal. The “Jobbörse” [Job portal] button on the careers page will automatically take you to the MAN careers page with the invitations to apply for your apprenticeship job. Your application documents will then be reviewed and, if you are suitable, we will invite you to attend an interview. Often you will be asked to complete a professional aptitude test as part of the interview. If we are both interested in going ahead with an apprenticeship, you will sign your contract after a trial period.
You will already have got over the first hurdle if we invite you to an interview. In the interview, we want to get a picture of you as a person. Just stay true to yourself and do not try to be something you are not. In addition, you will also complete a professional aptitude test.
The requirement for an apprenticeship at MAN Truck & Bus Germany is ideally a secondary school leaving certificate qualification for the industrial apprenticeships, and at least a secondary school leaving certificate qualification or an entrance qualification for higher (vocational) education for the commercial apprenticeships. In addition, you should be really enthusiastic about your chosen apprenticeship.
Yes, of course. The number of days’ leave is based on the Jugendarbeitsschutzgesetz [German Youth Employment Protection Act], the Bundesurlaubsgesetz [German Federal Leave Act] and on applicable collective wage agreements. As a rule, you will have 30 days’ leave per calendar year.
At MAN Truck & Bus Germany you will generally always have a trial period of four months. If the trial period is interrupted by more than a third (due to illness, for example), it can be extended by precisely this length of time.
Yes. Depending on your educational qualifications or particular prior knowledge, you may be able to reduce the length of your apprenticeship in consultation with your training supervisor.
