MAN ProfiDrive: Efficiency training

Discover how anticipatory driving and efficient driving techniques can reduce your operating costs and increase the efficiency of your fleet. Our training course teaches specific methods for reducing consumption and maintenance costs by using assist systems to your advantage. Comprehensive instruction in vehicle functions, assist systems and economical driving.

Efficiency training is divided into two areas:

1. Theory

Teaching the basics for a fuel-saving and low-wear driving style.  
Explanation of the influencing factors on efficiency, such as road resistances.  
Hands-on use and explanation of the functions of modern assist systems in the driver’s workplace.

2. Practice

Driving under guidance to establish an efficient driving style and its effect.  
Practical training on adopting an anticipatory driving style.  
Use of driver assist systems to optimise fuel consumption.

Efficiency training

Our "Intensive efficiency training" is aimed at specialists and managers who want to sustainably increase the efficiency of their fleet. In this comprehensive 3-day programme, you will become an expert in efficient driving and can act as a multiplier in your company. Your knowledge will help you educate colleagues, to positively influence profitability and sustainability.

What you will learn

The training course complies with the Professional Driver Qualification Act (BKrFQG) and covers important topics such as active and passive safety in theory. Incidentally, our efficiency training (with the exception of intensive efficiency training), can also be funded by the Federal Office for Goods Transport as professional driver training. You will learn how to:

Detect hazardous situations and react appropriately.
Drive to save fuel while minimising wear.
Make optimum use of assist systems such as Emergency Brake Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Mitigate the consequences of accidents by familiarising yourself with restraint systems for the driver and co-driver as well as optimised cab deformation behaviour.
Share your knowledge within the company as a multiplier.

On the practical side, you will learn how to achieve savings and increase economic efficiency in traffic with anticipatory driving. We handle topics such as maintenance costs and fleet management as well as analysing consumption values from the on-board computer.

When training makes the difference

High volume of traffic on the motorway: Even in heavy traffic, as a driver you will use an anticipatory, defensive and economical driving style to efficiently exploit the momentum of the vehicle. This means that critical driving situations can often be defused in advance – including with the help of assist systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Jam Assist – to keep your driving safe and cost-effective.

General questions about training

How many modules do I have to complete?
You have to submit evidence of completing a minimum of five modules, of seven hours each, to the driver’s licensing authorities.

Which modules do I have to complete?
At least one module must be completed from each of the three areas of knowledge specified by the legislator. The two additional modules can be freely selected from the areas of knowledge specified. No module should be used twice however.

Area of knowledge 1: Modules 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10
Area of knowledge 2: Module 4
Area of knowledge 3: Modules 5, 6, 8

I have completed all five modules, what is the next step?
Please proceed promptly, before the cut-off date, with all five modules (certificates) to the competent driver’s licence centre and have record 95 extended.

For how long are the certificates valid?
As a general rule, all certificates are valid for a maximum of five years. A type of transitional arrangement applies for the first extension. In this case, certificates can be a maximum of eight years old.

Whom should I contact when I have submitted a certificate?
Please send an email including the following details to profidrive@man.eu : Surname, first name, date of event, location of event and module as well as delivery address.

Questions about offer request and booking

What happens after I have submitted an offer request?
You will receive an offer by e-mail and possible seminar dates to choose from.

Do I have to store my private data when requesting an offer?
We need private data of the participants for the issuing of the certificates. It is important that the data is entered correctly so that the certificate is acknowledged by the driving licence office. We need the data of the participants two weeks before the seminar date at the latest.

What happens when I return the appointment confirmation or registration form?
You will receive a confirmation of receipt of the registration from us. Two weeks before the seminar date, you will also receive the invitation by email.

Registration

Can I register without Internet access or email?
On request, we will fax you a registration form, which you can use to register.

Cancellation and changes

How can I modify the contact person or the email address for the invitations?
Please send an email with details of the company, the new contact person and/or the new email address to profidrive@man.eu .

How can I cancel a seminar previously booked?
Please send an email including the following details to profidrive@man.eu : Name of the participant, event date, venue and seminar topic as well as reason for cancellation.

How can I transfer a participant to a seminar on a different date?
Please send an email to profidrive@man.eu including the following data: Name, surname, details about the original seminar (date, location, seminar topic) and the details about the new seminar (date, location, seminar topic). You will then be booked onto the new seminar.

Can I register a substitute participant for a seminar?
Please send an email including the following details to profidrive@man.eu : Name of the registered participant, event date, venue and seminar topic. We will cancel the registered participant in the system and replace her/him with the substitute participant. Please let us have the private data of the substitute participant.

Sie erhalten per E-Mail ein Angebot und mögliche Seminartermine zur Auswahl.

Muss ich meine privaten Daten bei der Angebotsanfrage hinterlegen?
Die privaten Daten der Teilnehmer benötigen wir für die Ausstellung der Zertifikate. Es ist wichtig, dass die Daten korrekt eingetragen werden, damit das Zertifikat von der Führerscheinstelle anerkannt wird. Die Daten der Teilnehmer benötigen wir spätestens zwei Wochen vor dem Seminartermin.

Was passiert, wenn ich die Terminbestätigung bzw. das Anmeldeformular zurückgeschickt habe?
Sie erhalten eine Eingangsbestätigung über den Erhalt der Anmeldung von uns. Zwei Wochen vor dem Seminartermin wird Ihnen zudem die Einladung per E-Mail zugeschickt.

Anschließend werden Sie auf den neuen Seminartermin umgebucht.

Kann ich einen Ersatzteilnehmer für ein Seminar anmelden?
