Theory:

Functionality of the assistance systems

Active safety (includes all measures for the prevention of accidents)

  • Identifying dangerous situations in good time and being able to control the vehicle in critical driving situations
  • ABS, ESP
  • Lane Guard System
  • Emergency Brake Assist
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system
  • Adaptive cruise control

Passive safety (includes all measures for minimising the consequences of an accident)

  • Retaining systems
  • Optimised deformation behaviour
  • Underrun protection devices for protecting smaller vehicles
  • GPS-assisted Cruise Control
  • MAN EfficientCruise
  • MAN EfficientRoll
  • Influencing factors for economy
  • (driving resistances)

Practice:

  • Using the assistance systems
  • Test drive to measure fuel consumption
  • Showing potential for savings

Course objective:

The participants become acquainted with all operating devices and assistance systems, both in theory and practice, in order to be able to rule out possible operating errors and to be able to operate the vehicle safely and economically.
