I spend more time in the new TGE than at home. So everything has to be right – and it is “
Many practical details make the difference here: "Lateral access to the toolbox is much more convenient and safer – because we don’t have to step into the rear of the van as much," says Barraclough. In addition, the exterior work lights: They enable the doors of the TGE to be kept closed in winter and in poor weather and still allow you to work in good light conditions.
- Hitachi Construction Machinery UK uses the TGE 3.180 4x4 with an optional winter package.
- Hitachi engineers are on the road throughout the UK to perform maintenance and repairs.
- The vans are specially tailored to the customer and offer side access to the tools.
We need our van every day, it's basically a tool for us. We carry out repairs and cover many kilometres every day. For us, it's practically our office “
In demand with customers all over Europe
Not only in the UK, but across Europe, the MAN TGE is a testament to its versatility and reliability. For example in Poland: There he impresses as an ambulance with the Falck Medycyna rescue service. The van is equipped with a 177 hp two-litre engine, modern medical equipment and special 270-degree doors for optimal patient access. The best thing is, Both the basic vehicle and the body are manufactured entirely in Poland.
The volunteer fire service in Kargowa, Poland, also uses a tailor-made MAN TGE. It is used as a command vehicle, for example when searching for missing persons and analysing large fires. Equipped with bidirectional video conferencing technology and monitors for map and situation analysis, the vehicle enables direct coordination of rescue operations from the operating site. "It’s an individual order for us," says Grzegorz Olejarz, a firefighter with the Kargova Volunteer Fire Brigade. "It is fair to say that it is unique because there is no second vehicle in this configuration."
Kalmar, a Belgian company, uses the MAN TGE as a mobile office and workshop for servicing and repairing forklifts and container trucks. This was preceded by an intensive market analysis in which the van had proven to be the best solution available. The company was particularly impressed by the spacious, fully equipped cargo space, which even fully loaded enables comfortable driving. "We need our van every day – it is basically a working tool for us," says Jeroen, a technician at Kalmar. "We carry out repairs and cover many kilometres every day. For us, it's practically our office."
