Brand new with a bow on top: Jennifer's new truck

Jennifer Grislawski is a partner and fleet manager. Nevertheless, she prefers to sit behind the wheel. With a new MAN TGX in the PowerLion Edition, the management has now shown her: you are exactly where you belong.

There was a time when Jennifer Grislawski was looking for new professional challenges. She had already been driving trucks for a few years. But in 2017, she felt the desire for a change. However, her company, Spedition Börner in Bad Oldesloe, saw something in her. They offered her a partnership. "Of course, I had to think about it for a while. After all, money plays a role too." She accepted and bought into the company.

Today, Jennifer runs the small haulage company with eleven vehicles together with managing director Maike. The senior boss, who built up the company over 30 years ago, retired at the end of the year. However, Jennifer's main focus remains driving. "I bring the perspective of a driver," she says. "I'm on the road every day and see what's going on in the industry."

Drivers have a say in decisions

This perspective shapes their decisions. At Börner, all drivers receive an above-average hourly wage. “When it comes to break times, we don't step on anyone's toes. We want to give people the freedom they need.”

When a new vehicle is ordered, colleagues are involved in the decision-making process. The fleet now consists mainly of MAN vehicles.

Like a Christmas present

And that's exactly what the management surprised Jennifer with in December. Jennifer liked the MAN TGX in the PowerLion Edition because of its design with highlights in cassis. "I had seen the post about the Müller haulage company from Mehren on Trucker's World on Facebook. Everyone at our company knew that I loved the truck." What she didn't know was that her managing director had been pulling out all the stops behind her back.

When Jennifer returned from her tour, her boss suddenly brought out champagne. Then the MAN TGX drove into the yard honking its horn and pulling a bow. "The surprise was perfect. Of course, I cried."

"I see this new truck as an incredibly big gesture of appreciation," says Jennifer. "For me, it's not something I take for granted at all." Since the handover, the PowerLion Edition has been her regular vehicle. Precisely because she knows how difficult the industry is, this gesture means a lot to her. "It was like an early Christmas present for me."
