Spedition Hörz is delighted with its new MAN TGX

To mark the 60th birthday of owner Klaus Hörz, the Spedition Hörz company has six new MAN TGX trucks in the brand-new company design in the yard. And it’s not only the person celebrating his birthday who is delighted – his drivers are also extremely enthusiastic.

My MAN – my truck!

Many of the drivers of the Spedition Hörz company from Erkenbrechtsweiler in Baden-Württemberg are genuine old hands. They identify strongly with their trucks. One of them, who is already driving the new MAN TGX, is Peter Teml. He has been on the road for Hörz for 24 years and is delighted that the fleet has been further expanded with the new MAN vehicles.

“First of all, I like the look with the family crest and the red bumpers,” says Peter. The more than 400-year-old crest of the Hörz family now stands out on the cab as a real eye-catcher: a ‘Filderkraut’ – a pointed white cabbage from the Stuttgart area – with leaves and knight’s armour.

But the striking design is not the only reason for his enthusiasm. “We drive silo trucks at Hörz, and for this we need a silo compressor on the vehicle. However, the tank required for this does not normally fit together with the side panelling. So MAN tweaked the design and relocated the tanks. It is really great how flexible they are!” And another important point: despite the generous equipment, the truck had to remain in toll class 2. MAN has also succeeded in this – just perfect for the Spedition Harz company!

Tradition with a modern touch

The history of Spedition Hörz goes back a long way. It started in 1950 with a used agricultural tractor. Since then, the company has continuously evolved and is now a modern haulage company. And MAN has been there from the very beginning.

Today, Hörz offers a wide range of services: from bulk goods, food and building materials to fertilisers. The repertoire also includes the recycling of residual materials, the supply of motorway and road maintenance services as well as winter service and road salt deliveries. With around 40 vehicles – and now six brand-new MAN TGX vehicles – the haulage company is well equipped for the future.

We say: good luck with the birthday fleet and safe driving!
