Bull bar, skull tattoo design, parquet on the chassis cover: it is immediately apparent that Julien Genoudet was very involved in the design of his truck. Of course, MAN was the only option for the driver of Transports Meyer in France.
Based in Ungersheim in the Haut-Rhin region of France, Transports Meyer has been using MAN vehicles for more than twenty years. So it was clear that the new truck would be another MAN. Driver Julien reports that he was actively involved in the purchase. Together with his boss, he decided on the MAN TGX and worked with him and a few friends on the conversion. It goes without saying that he also shows off his truck at trucker meetings.
The MAN’s equipment is definitely impressive: The combination of the dark parquet on the chassis cover with the anthracite paint and red accents is an unusual eye-catcher. Everything works together: the bull bars, the four corner air suspension, the window trim, the two-colour side panels and the illuminated sign on the roof make the MAN TGX a real eye-catcher. In general, the lighting is in a class of its own. The headlights are quite literally a highlight.
The cab is also luxurious and extremely comfortable. There are two bunks with slatted support, a sound system and a fridge. It goes without saying that Julien loves being on the road. “I wanted to express my passion and put MAN in the spotlight. That’s why we created something unique.”
Julien is an ardent fan of the American barber scene. And he loves tattoos. So he came up with the vintage skull and crossbones design, for example on the fifth wheel plate cover. “I am proud that we were able to implement such ideas and that my boss gave me a lot of freedom.”
The 47-year-old now has even more fun than styling the truck. “I feel free and meet a lot of different people who talk to me about the truck. I always wanted to be a truck driver. I have been transporting food and other goods around France since 1997.” Julien, we wish you: bon voyage.
