Alcohol Interlock, non-overridable

The Alcohol Interlock is a breath-alcohol-controlled immobiliser.

Traffic accidents due to alcohol are so unfortunate because they are absolutely avoidable. Even when sober, the driver must react in a fraction of a second, e.g. to avoid an impending accident. This is not possible under the influence of alcohol. With the connection of an Alcohol Interlock device to determine the alcohol concentration in the driver's breath, the engine can only be started when the driver is fit to drive.
