Sales trainee programme

Join us, rise up the ranks and drive forward the future

Have you completed your degree or your vocational training in the automotive industry and are now looking to consolidate your knowledge and skills in sales? Then MAN Truck & Bus Germany is just the right place for you.

Our trainee programme is unique, and we will give you intensive preparation for your future role in sales. Various opportunities will then be open to you according to your interests and strengths. After you have completed your trainee programme, you will be our expert on mobility matters and, in addition to having creative freedom and an extensive network, you can also expect excellent potential earnings with us.

We will always be by your side. This means that you will be collaborating both with colleagues within your sales team and also with your internal cross-departmental contacts from areas including order management, finance and product marketing. You will therefore have the opportunity to gain important knowledge and skills first hand. Depending on your individual skills profile and level of experience, you can complete our trainee programme within a flexible period (up to a maximum of 24 months). There is a mixture of theoretical and practical units. On successful completion of your training, you will receive the “Certified Automotive Salesperson” certificate, which is recognised in the automotive industry.

As a trainee, actively contribute to the success of our company and that of our customers. Let's work together to get things moving and shape the future of mobility.

This is what you can expect:

  • You will learn to approach customers professionally and advise them on the subjects of vehicle configuration, cost-effective transport solutions, e-mobility or financing issues.
  • You will get an understanding of the market and be able to use this to identify recommendations for action and sales measures. In addition, you will negotiate prices and quotations.
  • Training and courses tailored to you, your skills and your experience.
  • A valuable network due to cross-departmental and group-wide communication.
  • In order to ensure that you can also get things moving physically, we will train you for your truck driver’s licence.

This is what we can expect:

  • You will be enthusiastic about technology and enjoy developing, presenting and selling solutions tailored to MAN customers.
  • You will have completed technical or commercial vocational training or completed a degree focussing, for example, on economics or engineering.
  • You will ideally already have some initial professional experience.
  • You will work independently, win people over due to your open and communicative manner and be able to move around.

How I arrived at MAN

I first became aware of MAN through the interesting and humorous tales of a friend at the time. So straight after leaving school I started my training as an office administrator.

My adventures at MAN began on 1 August 1995. That Tuesday was to be the start of my time full of new experiences.

What I currently do at MAN

I started as an office administrator, then I worked in the spare parts warehouse, had my girls and then went back to working as a service assistant. In October 2019, I discovered an interest in sales and through my sales manager got the opportunity to join the trainee programme. I have had my own sales area since January 2021 and I have been advising our customers in the TGE/VAN area on a daily basis since then.

What I am particularly proud of

Having worked at MAN for a number of years, I have witnessed a few financial highs and lows. It makes me all the more proud to think that I can still be a part of this major company.

Why I like working at MAN

Throughout my entire career, I personally have always been given opportunities to evolve and develop professionally. But I am particularly grateful for the friendly relationships and respectful way employees treat each other.
