The Dutch family business Jos Scholmann receives six MAN trucks with hydrogen combustion engines.
Making the living environment as attractive and pleasant as possible for others: This has been the goal of the family business Jos Scholman from Nieuwegein in the Netherlands for 50 years. As a full-service partner, it is active in the areas of infrastructure, sport and green spaces - building cycle paths, roads and public spaces, among other things.
Jos Scholman is also a pioneer in the hydrogen transition in the infrastructure sector. The majority of its facilities are now powered by hydrogen, making them completely emission-free. And that's not all: with its own hydrogen refuelling station and an electrolyser from its subsidiary Hysolar, Jos Scholman supplies its machines with green hydrogen that it produces itself.
Now the company's climate-friendly fleet is growing: six MAN hTGXs with hydrogen combustion engines. The drive has an output of 520 hp and a torque of 2,500 Nm at 900 to 1,300 revolutions per minute. The direct injection of hydrogen into the engine guarantees particularly fast power delivery.
‘MAN stands out here because the company is offering a hydrogen combustion engine,’ says company boss Robert Scholman. ‘The best thing about this project is that the transition for our drivers from diesel to zero-emission vehicles is almost seamless.’ The hydrogen trucks are to be used in urban environments in the future, for example for projects in the municipal sector.
