2019-02-18 Truck

Penske Commercial Vehicles has delivered an MAN TGX D38 prime mover to Supercars Champions DJR Team Penske for the 2019 season.

The XXL cab features a modern, spacious driver environment with the latest European ergonomic enhancements, while the 580hp engine boasts innovative features that result in superior fuel efficiency, low whole-of-life-costs, and maximum safety and reliability.

Customised for Australian conditions, the flagship D38 prime mover will travel the breadth of the nation, transporting the team’s supercars between events.

“With a teams’ and a drivers’ championship over the last two seasons, DJR Team Penske’s winning culture extends throughout its operations, including how the team chooses to transport its race cars across Australia,” said Kevin Dennis, managing director of Penske Commercial Vehicles.

“From efficiency through to safety and innovation, the D38 mirrors DJR Team Penske’s supercar principles.”

The third MAN prime mover to be delivered to DJR Team Penske in five years, the all-new XXL cab, which was launched in Australia in mid-2018, provides a superior working environment.

“With the latest in European safety features and a roomier cab, our driver Wayne Cowper will be well taken care of as he tours the country this season,” said Ryan Story, managing director of DJR Team Penske.

“Not to mention how great the prime mover looks! It was an absolute pleasure to be recognised as the Best Presented Team in 2018 by Supercars fans for the second year running, with our MAN transporter a key element of the overall presentation of our team that race goers experience.”
