Born on February 27, 1961 in Bad Hersfeld. 1982-1987: Degree in Business Administration (Diplom-Betriebswirt (FH)).
Worked for over ten years for tire manufacturer Michelin in various personnel and production functions at different locations. Two years as Senior Vice President Human Resources in the CompAir/Invensys Group. Seven years for automotive components supplier Valeo in personnel and management functions in Germany and France, ultimately as Vice President Human Resources in Paris.
Joined the MAN Group in October 2006, initially, until December 2008, for MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG as Vice President Human Resources and then also from June 2007 until December 2008 as Vice President Human Resources of the MAN Group.
From January 2009 Senior Vice President Human Resources MAN Group.
On May 19, 2009, Jörg Schwitalla was formally elected Chief Human Resources Officer of the MAN SE Executive Board.
