City of the future
In the land of superlatives, the public transport system is something special too – alongside a metro network, there are also plans to bring luxurious NEOPLAN low-floor buses into operation.
 
Engines for the
biggest ship in the world
Nine massive diesel engines with common rail technology and a total performance of almost 95 MW have been ordered from MAN Diesel for 2010, to power what will then be the biggest ship in the world – a special-purpose ship for the construction of drilling platforms on the high seas.

The Panther has received a number of awards in the past; now it can also prove its usefulness in the service sector. The Panther vehicle with a MAN chassis forms part of the fire-fighting fleet at Dresden airport.
 
Milestones for the future
With MAN Ferrostaal acting as a general contractor, a biodiesel plant is being set up in Poland with an annual output of 100,000 tons. Experts today are assuming that by the year 2020 at least 15 percent of fossil fuels will have been replaced by regenerative raw materials.
 
MAN Turbo builds the biggest
screw compressor in the world
And it is a giant: the compressor's main rotor weighs 4.6 tons, the secondary rotor 4 tons. The world's biggest screw compressor is going to be used at a factory in Dushanzi in the northwest of China.
 
Engines for the jet set
Sunseeker's luxury yachts and sporting boats are in great demand with the international jet set. Since 1988 the British shipbuilding company has been relying on diesel engines supplied by MAN Commercial Vehicles to drive its motorboats.
 
The new knowledge workers
Industry is booming on the Indian subcontinent. Business forecasters think India is likely to make a direct quantum leap from an agrarian economy to the knowledge society. Investors are attracted above all by the potential offered by large numbers of well qualified specialists.
 
TU Munich and MAN go into partnership
MAN Aktiengesellschaft [MAN Inc.] and the Technical University of Munich have formed the basis for a close cooperative partnership extending over many years. This makes the Technical University the first institute of higher education to become an official partner of the MAN company.
